The Temporary Channels plugin allows users to create voice and text channels that are automatically generated and deleted based on activity. Customize settings like user limits, ownership permissions, and text channel integration for a streamlined server experience.
Start by setting the name format for temporary channels. The default format is #{index} - {username}'s Channel. For example:
#1 - Username's Channel
You can customize this format as needed.
In this section, we will customize the settings.
User Limit
Set a user limit for the channel, based on your preferences.
Bitrate
Define the default bitrate (in kbps) for all temporary voice channels. This setting can also be adjusted for individual channels directly on Discord.
Keep Alive
Specify how long a voice channel remains active without any users. Setting this to 0 prevents the channel from being automatically deleted. The time is measured in minutes.
Ownership Lock
Set a duration during which a channel without an owner cannot be claimed. Once this time elapses, other users can claim the channel.
There are two main options for permission management:
Synchronize Permissions with Hub Category
Temporary channels inherit the permissions of the Hub category when created.
Override Category Permissions
Set custom permissions for temporary channels, overriding those of the Hub category.
Additionally, you can configure the following:
Ignored Roles
Roles that are exempt from /voice-* commands.
Moderator Roles
Members with these roles can execute /voice-* commands even if they are not channel owners. These commands also do not affect them.
Assign permissions to channel owners, such as:
Manage Channels: Allows owners to rename the channel and modify member limits on Discord.
Manage Permissions: Enables owners to customize channel permissions.
Priority Speaker: Grants owners priority speaking privileges in the channel.
Move Members: Allows owners to disconnect other users from the channel.
Temporary text channels can be created alongside voice channels. You can configure the following:
Restrict /voice-* commands to this text channel and pin a command embed for easy access.
Use "Restrict text channel usage" to limit access to bot masters, moderators, and users currently connected to the associated voice channel.
