The Starboard plugin highlights notable messages by reposting them into a dedicated channel once they receive enough reactions. This helps communities surface popular or meaningful content automatically.
Starboards are managed through the MEE6 dashboard and monitor reactions across eligible channels.
When a message reaches the configured reaction threshold, it is reposted as an embed in a selected channel.
Each server can have up to 10 starboards, allowing multiple reaction systems to coexist.
A starboard defines how reactions are tracked and where highlighted messages appear.
Repost Channel
- Each starboard uses a single channel where starred messages are reposted.
- The repost includes a link back to the original message and source channel.
Reactions
- Starboards can track one or more emojis.
- If no emoji is selected, all reactions are counted.
- A reaction threshold determines when a message is reposted.
- Multiple reactions from the same user may be counted when multiple emojis are configured.
Appearance
- Reposted messages appear as embeds showing the message author, content, attachments, reaction count, timestamp, and a link to the original message.
Starboards support optional behaviour to improve engagement and reduce abuse:
- Automatic reactions on reposted messages
- Removal when reactions fall below the threshold
- Ignoring or removing self-stars
- Ignoring reactions on bot messages
- Minimum message age requirements
- Up to 10 starboards per server
- One repost channel per starboard
- Operates independently from Automations
- No XP, roles, or achievements are awarded
- Discord permission rules are always respected
